About the Commission

The Data Protection Commission supervises and enforces the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) — protecting personal data and promoting accountable processing in Ghana.

Our mandate

Independent oversight for personal data

The Commission is Ghana’s statutory authority for data protection. We regulate how organisations collect, use, store, and share personal data, investigate complaints, and help the public understand their rights under Act 843.

This portal is the official channel for registration of Data Controllers and Processors. Organisations use it to apply, renew, verify certificates, manage Privacy Seals, and stay compliant with their statutory obligations.
